Not every project has a dedicated Infra or DevOps team to help the project get onboarded to Kubernetes and deploy workloads securely. Understanding the Kubernetes ecosystem and creating resources and integrations that are tailored for your use case is time consuming and easy to get wrong. This is where Kubernetes Developer Platforms come in.

The goal is to make the use of Kubernetes as easy as possible. People should not have to be experts in using Kubernetes to be able to use Kubernetes.

Introducing Okteto

Okteto is described as the Kubernetes Development Platform that allows developers to quickly innovate and deliver cloud-native applications.

There are two version for Okteto, Okteto Cloud and Okteto Enterprise. Okteto Cloud has a free version to get started with.
